The IMS Web Engine user interface consists of Six dockable tool bars. Move your mouse over each tool bar to view its function. You can also visit the Toolbars Tutorial for more detailed information on the Toolbar functions.
TOOLS BAR
The Select and Resize buttons are used to Select, Drag and Resize objects on the page. They are also used to zoom and to select objects for the Align Bar.
The Geometry buttons are used to create Motion Paths, Vector based Geometry, to Import Bitmaps and Sprites and to Import, Export and Edit Rich Text files, Plain Text Files and HTML files.
The four Component buttons are used to edit the geometry, assign shading and texture maps, assign hierachical motions and to create event behaviors.
OBJECT BAR
The Object bar displays the names of the Components associated with the currently selected object. These components include the Objects: Geometry, Shading, Sound Effects, Motion and Behaviour. The Object Editor provides the ability to change and share these components amongst different objects.
FILE BAR
In addition to loading and saving IMS projects, the File Bar can Export your HTML project, gather your files, export Bitmaps and Cut, Copy, Paste and Clone project Objects.
PAGE BAR
The Page Bar can be used to add additional HTML pages to your project. It also displays the the Objects contained within the current Page and provides access to dialogs to select background colors, audio and links.
PREVIEW BAR
The preview bar provides the ability to emmediately display your presentation within your default browser. You can select either a 3.2 HTML preview or a 4.0 DHTML preview.
ALIGN BAR
The align bar is used to precisely position and space objects on the Page. It also provides Z ordering and Grouping functions.
WORK PAGE
The work surface is equivalent to your HTML page. Use the mouse to drag and drop, scale and stretch, rotate, select and group objects. Use the zoom buttons to zoom in and out from any point. The Tools menu provides the ability to set and display a snap grid and select a page outline guide. Use the arrow keys to nudge objects into place. The shift and control keys can be used in conjunction with the mouse and arrow keys to control your editing functions.
